The Obsidian Hammer is one of the four late-game weapons in Mortal Shell II, and it arrives with the two most oppressive status options in the current patch: Stasis that slows enemies until they cannot fight back, and a hammer-exclusive Trauma infusion that stacks stagger damage with every hit.

Where to find the Obsidian Hammer
- Travel to the outskirts of Mammon in the south of the map.
- Head southwest into the Obsidianite Mines.
- Fight through the miner mobs — pickaxe swingers and rock throwers — and clear the dungeon.
- The hammer waits at the end of the mine.
The area is hectic on a first visit; bring a ranged sidearm for the rock throwers and advance along the cleared paths.
Moveset overview
- Light attacks — big vertical bonks.
- Heavy attacks — sweeping arcs, with the final hit enhanced.
- Running light — a jumping strike.
- Running heavy — a massive ground slam. Exactly what it looks like.

Best Tarstones
The Clerik's Stone is the recommended combat stone, for the same reason it suits the Great Martyr's Blade: you lock enemies down, then cash in the control window for big crit hits.
Infusions: Stasis now, Trauma forever
Stasis is one of two weapons-only options here (the Axatana is the other), and in the current build it is borderline broken: each hit applies roughly five stacks of Stasis, slowing the target until it effectively cannot respond. The loop is simple — trigger your special, then keep light-attacking; the enemy never gets a turn. Expect a nerf. When it lands, nothing is lost: Trauma is exclusive to this hammer and steadily builds stagger damage, turning every fight into a stagger-bar filling contest.

Special ability
Two strong options: the shared Lost Clotstone, or the hammer-unique Colossus Stone, which slams out shockwaves with excellent AoE that genuinely stuns groups. Either works; Colossus Stone is the more fun one.
Verdict
A slow weapon with no slow turns. Between the Stasis lockdown loop and the Trauma stagger engine, the Obsidian Hammer is the closest Mortal Shell II gets to a control mage in plate armor.
